Hitchin BID Ltd is seeking to employ a BID Manager to work alongside the existing manager until BID renewal in spring 2019. Assuming a successful renewal ballot, the contract would be extended for a further 5 years from 1st April 2019 on the retirement of the present incumbent.
The post offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing success of Hitchin town centre and the BID that supports it. It is an ideal position for an organised and dynamic self-starter with a proven track record of developing and maintaining successful and productive business relationships across both the public and private sectors.
The BID focuses on promoting and developing the customer experience of Hitchin town centre. To do this you will require a strong background in delivering major public events and marketing initiatives. To work closely with retailers, town centre businesses and statutory bodies delivering the BID Business Plan, you will need to possess excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of the issues and opportunities facing the retail sector locally and nationally is crucial.
- You should be able to demonstrate sound project management experience and good general management acumen preferably within a town centre partnership or BID environment with a demonstrable track record of developing initiatives in response to specific business needs.
- You will also have experience of reporting to Board level and taking responsibility for producing reports and gathering and presenting sector intelligence. Presentational skills are important too as addressing meetings and public gatherings is par for the course.
- Your senior management experience will mean that you have an appreciation and working knowledge of budget management, line management and the appointment and direction of third party contractors/agencies.
- Previous experience of managing a BID renewal campaign would be a distinct advantage as Hitchin BID heads towards its 2019 deadline to seek a third term.
This is a fixed term contract until 31/03/19 with potential to extend a further five years
Salary: £35000 to £40000 according to experience Based at Hitchin BID. 1A Churchyard.
